The efms is a Landmark in the Land of Ideas: Naturalization ceremonies in Bamberg

On May 11, 2000, the efms, in cooperation with the city of Bamberg, organised the first naturalization ceremony for recently naturalized migrants. Bamberg was the first city in Bavaria that realized the idea of the efms to welcome its new citizens with a ceremony. In the year 2007 the efms was selected as a "Landmark in the Land of Ideas".

"Germany - Land of Ideas" is a joint, non-partisan nation-branding initiative by Germany's federal government and private sector, represented by the German Industry Association (BDI). Federal President Horst Köhler is the initiative's patron. The objective behind the initiative is to convey a positive image of Germany inside and outside the country, highlighting Germany's strengths as a place for business.

Because of the great success of the project "365 Landmarks in the Land of Ideas" in the year 2006, again in 2007, in a Germany-wide competition, 365 landmarks were selected from more than 1.500 applications to present themselves and their ideas and innovations to the public. These landmarks are private and public institutions, cultural and church organisations, social projects, companies, and scientific research centres. Each day of 2007 a selected landmark presents its idea to the public.

On June 12, 2007, the efms in cooperation with the city of Bamberg has celebrated its day in the Land of Ideas with the naturalisation ceremony 2007 of Bamberg in the "Spiegelsaal der Harmonie", Schillerplatz 5, Bamberg.

The naturalisation ceremony in 2009 will take place at July 9 in the "grüner Saal der Harmonie", Schillerplatz.
