Neighbourhood Management in St. Leonhard/Schweinau and Langwasser

The Nuremberg programme Neighbourhood Management was funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees under the title "Spielend lernen in Familie und Stadtteil" until 2009 and is being continued and extended with the new title "Stadtteilkoordination in St. Leonhard/Schweinau und Langwasser" ("Neighbourhood Management in St. Leonhard/Schweinau and Langwasser"). The programme aims at improving the preconditions for the successful education and socialisation of children and adolescents in the district. This is done by connecting measures and actors, strengthening social networks, and improving the capacity of social institutions and local service providers involved with children and adolescents. The programme is implemented by a neighbourhood manager who promotes neighbourhood networking and catalyses problem solution processes in the neighbourhood.

The evaluation of the efms which is based on the pilot project "Spielend lernen", analyses the impact of the neighbourhood management on the networking of the actors in the districs St. Leonhard/Schweinau and Langwasser. Moreover, the contribution of the networking, initiated by the neighbourhood management, to the improvement of the preconditions for the education and socialisation of children and adolescents in the two districts is analysed.
