A second focus of the institute's work is the integration of migrants. Within the area of "integration" there are the following topics:
Within the framework of its basic research, the efms has completed several empirical projects on the situation of the integration of migrants, on the role of naturalisation and on the integration of young migrants in a European comparative perspective. Furthermore you can find here the reports on the integration of migrants which have been commissioned by different cities.
Another important focus of the efms are studies and expert reports on integration policies of European countries. Within this area, measures aimed at promoting integration at local, regional and national level are examined, as well as integration concepts are developped.
In the thematic field of discrimination the efms analyses various aspects of institutional and interpersonal discrimination and inequality of migrants and other minority groups.
