Muslim communities as local actors

The project "Muslim communities as local actors" aims at a higher inclusion of Muslim communities into the societal context in Germany. In order to stimulate the cooperation between Muslim religious groups and communal stakeholders, the Goethe Institute, in cooperation with the Robert Bosch foundation, developed an extensive training concept. Apart from individual German language training, the project offers workshops on different societal issues for local multiplicators in Muslim communities, who can actively decide on the topics to be discussed.

The efms was commissioned with the evaluation of the project "Muslim communities as local actors of change". In addition to an analysis of the project process and execution, the efms examines the impact of the project using quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Executing organisation: Goethe-Institut
Project Funding: Robert Bosch foundation
Duration: October 2012 - December 2015
Researcher: Susanne Bartig
