Why Nuremberg Metropolitan Region?

The immigration of skilled professionals plays an increasingly important role for regional competitiveness. The immigration and quick integration of qualified employees is a durable strategy to ensure the retention of skilled personnel in the region.

The Alliance for skilled professionals ("Allianz pro Fachkräfte") engages in ensuring skilled professionals for the industry of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. One goal amongst others, is to create a culture of welcome by offering broad services for immigrating qualified employees and their families and by communicating the advantages of the region precisely and successfully. This study is carried out by the efms in order to provide a basis for this undertaking.

The goal of the empirical analysis is to evaluate skilled professionals' motives for moving to the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. What are the reasons that keep them permanently in the region and which circumstances play a role in this process? How do people from Berlin, Beijing, Brisbane or Bordeaux feel, when they come to live in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region? What kind of support would they have liked to have in order to feel welcome? And mainly: what can the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region improve, to facilitate the settling in of new fellow citizens?
