In addition to the biannual IRAP conference, the IASFM develops further activities for its membership and for promoting forced migration studies. On the 7th International Conference in Johannesburg, the membership authorized the Executive Board to negotiate the installation of a permanent International Secretariat for the IASFM to easen the continuity of IASFM activities which are performed up to now on a honorary basis only.In memoriam of Liza Gilad, the General Assembly of Members decided to establish the Liza Gilad Price for excellent publications of young authors in the filed of forced migration.The Andrew W Mellon Foundation supports the establishment of an International Secretariat for the IASFM, which will be located at the Refugee Studies Centre at the University of Oxford, UK.
